Day 1 – Petra

Early morning departure from your hotel. We enter Jordan at the Arava border crossing, and drive in air-conditioned buses to Petra. Part of the journey is on horseback, continuing on foot into the narrow canyon that leads to the Red Rock. Comprehensive tour (4-5 hours), during which we will visit the Great Treasury (Khazneh), the small temple, the Roman Amphitheatre and the caves in the rock between dozens of imposing obelisks and monuments. Lunch in the area (included in the price). From there we return to Aqaba for a short panoramic tour. Return to the Arava border crossing. Estimated arrival in Eilat about 7:30 p.m.

 

 

Extention to Jordan – 2009-2010

Day1 – Sunday: Jerash • Amman

Drive from Jerusalem to the border. Proceed to Jerash - City of the Decapolis, located about 45Km North of Amman in the fertile heights of the Gilad, visit the ancient Roman city with colonnaded streets, the baths and the hill of the top Temple. _ en drive to Amman for a city tour of the Jordanian Capital. Overnight in Amman.

 

Day2 – Monday: Petra

After early breakfast, leave the hotel and travel south on the road to Wadi Musa. _ en on horseback to the “Siq” (canyon) and then on foot to Petra known as “Sela Edom” or red rock city, the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd century B.C. to 2nd Century A.D. Visit the most interesting monuments, such as the Treasury, El Khazneh (a tomb of a Nabatean king) then the fi eld of tombs, obelisks, the altar, (Al Madhbah) from this point you can view the whole of the rock city, then back to Wadi Musa village and drive back to Amman for overnight. Day 3 – Tuesday: Madaba • Mount Nebo

Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland and ruins of historical sites. Continue about 10Kms. to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the promised land. From there you will see the Jordan Valley, Jericho Dead Sea, etc. Visit the remains of a Byzantine church with a mosaic fl oor, then drive to the border and to Jerusalem. (B)

 

4 Days / 3 Nights

Departs every Thursday from Jerusalem

Day 1 – Th ursday: Jerash • Amman

Drive from Jerusalem to the border. Proceed to Jerash - City of the Decapolis, located about 45Kms north of Amman in the fertile heights of Gilead. Day 2 – Friday: Madaba • Mt Nebo • Petra

Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland & ruins of historical sites. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Visit the remains of the Byzantine church with a mosaic fl oor, proceed via the Crusader’s castle - Shobak, to Wadi Mussa, the modern village of Petra for overnight. (B)

 

Day 3 – Saturday: Petra • Amman
